At Swift, we are all too aware of how confusing mortgages and loans can be. Whether you have just taken out a new loan with us or have been with us for many years we understand you may still need help and guidance depending on your circumstances.
This is where we aim to help by producing leaflets that are clear and informative, or by pointing you towards other organisations that can help you. These can be found below. Also, from time to time, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) will issue guidelines to help the consumer, details of which are set out below.

Some companies target borrowers who are experiencing payment difficulties in order to make money. Many of these companies charge high fees in return for a promise to "halve your debts" or something similar. In reality many of these companies provide little or no benefit to the customer and may charge you high fees as well. If you are experiencing payment difficulties please contact us to discuss your loan and the options that may be available to you. Alternatively you can contact one of the organisations above that specialises in providing free advice to consumers.
Please be wary of any business that:
- Charges a fee for services such as communicating with Swift on your behalf
- Guarantees to reduce your debt or help you to avoid liability for any shortfall
- Instructs you not to contact Swift
- Suggests that you make your mortgage payments to anyone other than Swift
- Offers to fill out paperwork for you and asks you to sign documents that you do not understand
- Asks you to surrender your property
There may be occasions, despite our best efforts, that we do not quite get it right. Should this happen we still want to help and rectify our mistake. Please click here for our complaints procedure.
